So life kinda got in the way a bit this week. Here, in super-fast form, are my missed "Best of 2009" posts:
Best of 2009 Blog Challenge: The Catch-up Edition #best09
Best Night Out: December 4, with the Hubband. We ended up at (literally) the sixth place we tried, but it turned out it was where we supposed to be all along. And they had Pavlova. (Which means I did, too. FTW!)
Best Workshop or Conference: No question, not a one — PodCamp Boston 4. My original plan (before my son's double ear infection, double conjunctivitis and pneumonia this week) was to list all the people, probably close to 50 of them, whom I met there and who have become friends and mentors since. Truly life-changing.
Best Blog Find of the Year: All of them? But seriously, I was not a blog reader before this January, so all the blogs I now follow are new to me this year. Probably my favorite, though, is Julien Smith's (inoveryourhead.net) — it reminds me of him. (Perhaps a strange thing to say, but in this case, very true.)
Best Moment of Peace: Waking up in Montreal.
Best Challenge: Biking way too far on Martha's Vineyard. I thought it would kill me. It didn't.
Best Album of the Year: A three-way tie between Andrew Bird's Noble Beast, The Stones' Exile on Main Street (no, not new, but rediscovered this year), and Leonard Cohen's Live in London.
Best Place: On the floor of my son's room, with him in my lap, reading to him.
Best New Food: Frontera frozen pizzas. Seriously. These pizzas rock my world. Particularly the Chipotle Chicken. Yum-my.
Best Change to the Place I Live: Replacing the craptastic vanity in our bathroom. Goodbye shell-shaped sink, hello streamlined Ikea loveliness.
Best Rush: I love the feeling I get right before I hit "publish" on any blog post — the last vestiges of long-ago shed stage fright.
Up tomorrow? Best packaging. Hmmmm….
